We all adore listening to music at home in our living room, whether alone or with friends. And a good sound system will do just as much for your listening experience as a good quality armchair to sit in. At holm° you can listen to and purchase Libratone – Denmark’s answer to wireless speakers.
We asked Olivier Rohrbach – swiss music designer and journalist – to give us his shortlist of Scandinavian songs. His answer was, “I first wanted to do a Top 5, then a Top 10, but now it’s turned out to be a Top 11! As usual, there's always such a lot of great Scandinavian sound around. This playlist is a mix of my all-time favourites and Nordic novelties!” You will see that there is more to Scandinavian music than "Euphoria", winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Here is Olivier’s list, in no specific order:
1. Jori Hulkkonen "Four Seasons, Four Loves" (Finland)
I included this song in my compilation Calming Park 3 back in 2003. Nine years later, it still sounds like it was
only written yesterday!
2. Radka Toneff "A Form of Women" (Norway)
A classy and sensual song by this rare and mythic Norwegian jazz singer
3 Little Dragon "Crystalfilm" (Sweden)
A catchy tune from Sweden’s best electronic band!
4. Flunk "Blue Monday" (Rune Lindbæk Loves Manchester Remix) (Norway)
A classic revisited by Flunk
5. Palace of Pleasure "Pray" (Norway)
I love the energy of this song, kind of rock meets electronic…
6. Drop Out Orchestra feat. The Reverb Junkie "Sun Machine" (Sweden)
Balearic beats… this time from Skåne county!
7. Kasper Bjørke "Deep is the Breath" (Denmark)
A breathtaking new song from this talented Danish producer
8. Anna Ternheim "What Have I Done" (Sweden)
What would Swedish pop-rock be without Anna?
9. Erlend Oye "Prego Amore" (Norway)
A lazy song taken from a solo project by the singer of Kings of Convenience
10. Ganga "Dreams" (Denmark)
Ganga makes me gaga: dreamy tune from this talented Danish DJ!
11. Amanda Mair "Sense" (Sweden)
Sweden’s next princess of pop! Robyn meets Kimbra, meets Rumer
