Danish dining table = the Super-Elliptic

A revitalised version of the classic Table Series from Fritz Hansen

The Table Series from Fritz Hansen is a joint design from 1968 by some of the most well-known Danish and Swedish designers par excellence. The mathematically derived super elliptic shape is by the Danish mathematician and philosopher Piet Hein, the pedestal base by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen and the ingenious span legs by the Swedish architect Bruno Mathsson. Did you know, that the inspiration to The Super-Elliptical table, came from the designer Piet Hein’s solution to a traffic problem at Sergels Torg in Stockholm - a super elliptical roundabout, with a fountain in the middle?

A cornerstone in Danish design
Since its launch, the Table Series is found in numerous Danish dining rooms and is often combined with the classic PH5 lamp by Poul Henningsen - that's Scandinavian sustainability!

A revitalised Version of the Table Series
Fritz Hansen now revitalised the Super-Elliptical table with a new laminate surface in a beautiful colour selection. In addition, the span legs come in 4 different versions: chrome, white, black and grey.

We have the extendable version of the Super-Elliptical table in grey with grey span legs on display. We also carry samples for all versions.
