FormaFantasma: 2024 Guest of Honour
Stockholm Furniture FairIt's the middle of the season for the major European furniture fairs and we've been on the lookout for you. While the trend in recent years has been fewer but perhaps superior new product launches and relaunches, many clients still struggle to navigate the overwhelming array of products. It's like not being able to "see the wood for all the trees." How can you be certain you make the right choice? As is our annual tradition, we dedicate considerable effort not only to selecting the most noteworthy news but also to testing and thoroughly examining them. Our goal is to identify items that align with our philosophy. Thankfully, each year sees a growing percentage of news that fits the bill compared to earlier years. So, what is it we're looking for? When searching for articles, we ask ourselves the following questions while contemplating a product:
By extensively trying out and scrutinizing the products, we aim to determine various aspects, such as the category for example a sofa falls into:
This meticulous process is repeated for other furniture categories. For specific clients and their projects, we may also be on the lookout for highly specific items. Over the past two decades, this method has resulted in the development of a substantial resource we fondly refer to as our "Evolutionary Library of Recommendations." |

Able and Veva from Blå Station
This caught our eyeAny list you compile will inevitably be incomplete. Therefore, here's an imperfect compilation of some recently launched products that piqued our interest. Asplund introduced a beautifully proportioned bench, "Pause", by Broberg & Ridderstråle, that we can picture both in private spaces and hospitality projects. We love, that you can choose between having no armrests or opting for one or two. Blå Station's Lindau, together with Borselius & Bernstrand, has put a lot of effort into developing a chair that can also be a lounge chair, on wheels or not, in a new colour or another armrest material... They asked themselves the question: Could one product be sustainable, recyclable, upgradeable, changeable, renewable, dismountable, traceable, serviceable, adaptable, and still lovable? The answer is "yes" and the name is "Able". But Borselius & Bernstrand didn't stop there. Another irresisible product is their height adjustable table "Veva", or crank as we'd say in English. Konsthantverk, in collaboration with the renowned Swedish architect Andreas Martin Löf, has unveiled the stunning collection "Untitled," building on their previous work with the Patina lights. Massproductions continues to impress. Their new sofa, "Patch", is perfect for those who enjoy cozy gatherings for extended conversations. Thanks to a pocket spring construction borrowed from the bedding industry, comfort is guaranteed wherever you choose to sit. Additionally, they've expanded their beloved Dandy series with a much-anticipated 3-seater. Nikari, known for perfecting the production of honest and meticulously crafted products, introduces "Kumu" – an embodiment of functionality, simplicity, and consistency. The stackable chair is made in birch, with or without upholstered seat. Sibast, has introduced a timeless garden collection, "Rib" by Morten Anker, impeccably crafted and exuding elegance. Its proportions are human-centric, timeless and undeniably lovely. Swedese, in collaboration with Broberg & Ridderstråle, has developed the ideal desk, "Luna", not only complementing their successful desk chair, Stella, but also versatile enough to serve as a dressing table. Its rounded shape ensures it's a visually striking piece that can take center stage in any room. |
